Welcome to the Ramkin Rattery

About Ramkin Rats:

The Ramkin Rattery will be working towards breeding Russian Blue Burmese Fancy Rats, with related colours. My lines currently contain Dumbo and Rex, and there will usually be standard coated and top-eared babies available within any planned mating involving Dumbo or Rex.

Update:

From Summer 2011, the Ramkin Rattery will be changing breeding direction and focussing upon Martens in Burmese, Wheaten Burmese and Russian Blue. We will still have non-Marten versions of these varieties available. This is a big and exciting project, as Martens are new to the UK. These babies will not be available for breeding, so please do not enquire for them in this way.

Currently I plan to keep the dumbo in my lines, but this is subject to change at any time, as it depends on the available parents. Rex will no longer be a primary focus, as I will no longer have the space and time to focus upon this aspect within my lines. There will be plans involving rex for at least the next year or two.

I am based in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Ramkin Rattery is registered with the NFRS, although I have not yet achieved stud status. Therefore Ramkin is the name currently used to simply identify rats bred by me.

I will never have more litters than I can feasibly handle, play with and generally socialise on a daily basis. As a relatively new rattery I am still establishing my lines, and so I have planned a number of theoretical matings for Spring/Summer 2011, which may not all happen.

My rats are above all my own pets. I do not cull, and any kittens born who do not find good homes will remain here with me.

Update: 27/01/2012:

The Ramkin Rattery is thrilled to announce the safe arrival of a litter of 3 kittens, 12 for Hawthorn Astoria and Lias Bluestone .
